Autumn is upon us again, complete with brisk chills, bright colors, tricks, treats, and pumpkin patches — and the best way to celebrate the turning of the season is to get as festive as possible! 4. Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular
What’s fall without Halloween, and what’s Halloween without jack-o-lanterns? From October 10th through 12th, visit Botanica, the Wichita Gardens, for the first-ever Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. As you stroll through the gardens, keep an eye out for the 500 carved pumpkins that will be lit up and glowing in the night. You’ll also get to enjoy live music as well as food and beverages from local restaurants, food carts and breweries.
5. Country Fair at Old Cowtown Museum
Step back in time and savor the history of your community by coming to Old Cowtown Museum’s Country Fair on October 6th. Paying tribute to the Wichita of the 1870s, this event recreates its authentic atmosphere of community — complete with pie-eating contests, live music, tug-of-war, and more!
6. Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes
When it comes to fall events in Wichita, sometimes classic fall fun is the best way to go. For corn mazes, pumpkin picking, hayrides, paintball, and more, stop by any of Wichita’s pumpkin patches — Marietta Farm Pumpkin Patch, Applejack Pumpkin Patch, Cox Farm Pumpkin Patch, or Meadowlark Farm Pumpkin Patch.
